Naturalist-led Hike at Bolton Landing’s Up Yonda Farm

If you’re interested in trying snowshoeing for the first time or want to learn about winter in the Adirondacks, consider reserving a spot on Up Yonda Farm Environmental Education Center’s guided hikes led by a naturalist. These treks occur on weekends in January and February at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM. Snowshoe rentals in both child and adult sizes are available for on-site use.

Embark on a delightful and educational hiking experience in picturesque Bolton Landing near the stunning shores of Lake George. Up Yonda’s guides will cover the basics of snowshoeing while you learn about animal tracking, winter ecology, and the history of Up Yonda Farm.
During an hour-long excursion, participants will venture on a scenic journey spanning roughly a mile, where they will have the opportunity to observe how local plants and animals prepare for the winter months. As you make hikers make their way along the lush trails, they can take in the vibrant winter scenery and the enchanting sounds of nature.
The hike culminates at Up Yonda’s breathtaking vista point, where participants can pause to appreciate the panoramic views overlooking the shimmering waters of Lake George (and take the obligatory selfie or two). This immersive experience combines the beauty of the great outdoors with the fascinating insights of environmental education, making it perfect for nature enthusiasts of all ages.
