Wonderplace Alpha bills itself as a liminal environment where travelers from all over space and time mix in various ways. Fans of many genres—cyberpunk, fantasy, Renaissance Faire, Halloween and more—come together to mix, converse, and explore in myriad ways.
The event, formerly known as the Lake George Fantasy Festival, takes place May 2 through 4, 2025, at the Barn at French Mountain, just south of Lake George Village.
With Robert Brown of Abney Park, multiple entertainers, performers, conversations, conclaves and discussions, you’ll barely have time for the multitude of vendors and hours and hours of play and pure joy.
Wonderplace Alpha is a multi-genre adventure into liminal magic. It’s a Gothic, Steampunk, Halloween, Science Fiction, and Magickal event with so much going on and evolving that the best way to find out what’s new is just to visit the website and see what’s been added today.

Wonderplace Alpha is a multi-genre festival that invites participants to immerse themselves in a vibrant mix of experiences. Attendees can engage with medieval jesters, futuristic androids, and steampunk poets, all while enjoying performances from alien jazz bands.
It’s an unusual and exhilarating fusion where the uniqueness of each genre creates a thrilling adventure. Among the genres represented are:

Eccentrics Meet & Greet — Calling all weirdos, freaks, geeks, goths, nerds, rennies, steampunks, and every wonderfully odd spirit. Meet up on Friday afternoon to celebrate the unconventional, filled with laughter, clinking glasses, and a vibrant crowd that embraces the strange and quirky.
The Chris Cyanide Solo Bass Project — A relentless, bass-fueled journey into the dark heart of industrial metal, shock rock, and horror-inspired theatrics.
Captain Robert Brown, Airship Pirate of Honor — The world’s most notorious airship pirate, he is best known as the lead vocalist and principal songwriter of the steampunk band Abney Park.
