Martha’s Dandee Creme in Lake George
For over 75 years, Martha’s offers some of the tastiest homemade ice cream in the region.
It’s hard to miss Martha’s Dandee Creme as you pass by on route 9 south of Lake George Village (it’s technically in Queensbury, but we’re not going to get all persnickety). It’s not just the giant rooster on top of the vintage neon sign. It’s probably the massive crowd waiting for delicious ice cream or a sizzling burger off of their grill. Don’t let the line dissuade you; service is top-notch from their supremely efficient summer staff.
Martha’s makes their ice cream fresh every day. The menu constantly changes and features traditional and new flavors to keep things lively. You will never be bored with flavors like blueberry, salted caramel, raspberry chocolate twist, peach, peanut butter, maple walnut, coconut, coffee, marble cake, and pistachio. Allegedly they rotate through 35+ homemade flavors regularly. If that’s not enough, you can choose from seven flavors to dip your cone in and nine varieties of sprinkles. Uou can purchase an ice cream cake to take home with you.
Ice cream isn’t the only thing people scream for at Martha’s. The Grill offers hamburgers, cheesesteaks made from shaved ribeye, veggie burgers, Italian sausages with peppers and onions, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and fried fish. They also feature freshly made salads if that’s your jam, too.
