The Elegant Lake Placid Lodge
Sophisticated Relais & Châteaux property on the shores of Lake Placid.
Lake Placid Lodge is an exquisite masterpiece on the shores of Lake Placid. The inn beautifully captures the Great Camp aesthetic without being what we refer to as “Adiron-tacky.”
We admire the lovely birch bark ceilings, the artful use of twig architectural details, hand-hewn wood beams and stunning stonework.
The Lodge offers guests a variety of accommodations in the Main Lodge, suites in the Lakeside Buiding, and a variety of cabins and cottages.
All are furnished with unique decor and a wide array of amenities, including WiFi throughout the property, luxurious linens and signature cloud-soft beds.
On our recent stay, we had nightly fireplace service — each day, a fire was laid for us in the fireplace in our room, along with a S’mores kit. It doesn’t get cozier than that.
Guests at the Lodge have access to numerous dining options. They can begin the day with a hearty breakfast at the resort’s main restaurant, Artisans, and end their day with a lovely dinner overlooking the lake.
Maggie’s Pub is available all day for casual fare, or guests can opt for a private dining experience in the resort’s wine cellar. The village of Lake Placid also offers numerous fine dining establishments.
A four-season resort, Lake Placid Lodge offers guests any number of diversions. Watersports, tennis, golf, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, nordic and alpine skiing, snowshoeing, skating, ice fishing and more, guest services can connect guests to whatever they desire.
If you think this resort looks like something out of a movie set, you’re not wrong. The HBO series “Succession” filmed here pre-pandemic (Season 2, Episode 6 “Argestes”). We’re “Succession” addicts even before the ADK connection.
Architectural Digest included Lake Placid Lodge on its list of the most beautiful hotels in the Adirondacks. And we do, too.
