The 2025 SKI Magazine Readers Survey is out, and we are thrilled to see it ranks Gore Mountain in the Adirondacks among the top 10 ski resorts on the East Coast.
In SKI Magazine's annual reader survey, Gore is ranked eighth among the top 20 ski resorts in the Northeast and is the only ski resort in New York State in the top 20. What's truly remarkable is that Gore outshone big brand-name resorts like Snow Mt., Mont Tremblant, Stowe, Sugarbush, and Killington. This is a testament to the unique features and experiences that Gore Mountain offers.
SKI Magazine surveys its readers every year, asking them to evaluate ski resorts across 18 categories, including lifts, grooming, challenge, guest services, snow quality, dining, access, lodging, nightlife, family programming and more.
High marks for awesome ski terrain and overall value.
Readers gave Gore impressive ratings for its diversity of terrain and value. SKI Magazine editors say, “Gore gets high marks from readers for its excellent, varied terrain with enough challenge to keep advanced and expert skiers coming back for more. Gore also pleases with its reasonable lift tickets, equipment rentals, and ski school offerings.”
SKI Magazine also lauded Gore for its breathtaking panoramic views that remain largely unmarred by development, allowing the natural beauty to shine through. The resort boasts a state-of-the-art lift system that efficiently transports skiers swiftly from the base, enhancing the overall experience on the slopes.
Gore Mountain keeps skiers coming back for more.
One survey respondent summed it their experience at Gore Mountain nicely: “Five different mountain peaks to play on, each with its own different personality. I found this place during the pandemic when I wasn’t allowed in Vermont, and I’ve been making a point to visit ever since. The longest glade in the East, Rumor and Lies, is as steep as any trail around, and Gore’s lift ticket doesn’t break the bank.”
While the SKI editor’s write-up of Gore noted that there is no slope-side lodging or extensive amenities, readers indicated that nearby North Creek “fits the bill just fine.”
