The Outdoor Center offers everything from hiking and mountain biking in the warmer months to skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. It is the perfect getaway for nature lovers year-round.
While the Center is part of the Garnet Hill Lodge, many of its facilities are open to the public. The friendly and well-informed staff will help you with your outdoor adventures, whether hiking, mountain biking, disc golfing, backcountry or on-piste skiing, snowshoeing, or more.

Hikers can explore 600 acres of trails with varying difficulty levels, including the Hooper Mine, Sugar House, and Putty Pond trails.

You can also hike along well-maintained and well-marked trails to other backcountry spots in the Siamese Pond Wilderness Area.
You can choose from an all-day guided climb of a 4,000-foot high peak, a leisurely walk in the woods, or a fishing adventure hike to a remote pond. Garnet Hill Lodge is an ideal home base for hiking in the Southern Adirondacks.

Whether you’re a seasoned mountain biker or looking to learn the sport, Garnet Hill Outdoor Center is your destination. If you don’t have your equipment, they have rental bikes and offer lessons.

Garnet Hill offers a diverse range of mountain biking terrain, featuring five miles of dedicated single-track trails in the Log House Area. Additionally, there is an extensive network of existing single-track trails, cross-country ski trails, and dirt and gravel roads.
Wilderness Property Management, a local expert in the biking community, has constructed the trails to the highest standards. They are specifically designed for mountain bikers.
Some of Garnet Hill's mountain biking trails provide breathtaking views of the Adirondack High Peaks, while others lead you through a peaceful wooded environment.
After an awesome time on the trails, visit the Log House Restaurant and Pub at the Lodge for a delicious meal or a hearty snack.

The Outdoor Center at Garnet Hill Lodge is known nationally for its superb cross-country ski trails, ski school, and recreational programs. They offer over 50 kilometers (35 miles) of groomed trails and backcountry ski adventures.
Day and season passes are available, and guests staying at the cozy Garnet Hill Lodge receive a discount on their tickets. Need to rent equipment or replace some essential gear? Not a problem. You can rent or purchase equipment on-site and pick up any needed apparel items. Lessons are also available from Garnet Lodge’s PSIA-certified instructors team. Snowshoeing is also available.

Garnet Hill is located in prime backcountry ski territory for seasoned skiers looking for adventure and thrills. These aren’t trails for beginners. That’s why Garnet Hill only offers private back-country tours to advanced skiers.
