Wood-fired pizza in an Adirondack lodge setting.
Sticks & Stones is a charming wood-beamed and stone restaurant that offers a warm and cozy atmosphere.
Just outside the charming town of Schroon Lake, NY, Sticks & Stones Wood Fired Bistro & Bar feels like a well-kept Adirondack secret. This is more than just a pizzeria—it’s an experience designed to complement the scenic beauty of the region, offering cozy, rustic decor alongside a mouth-watering wood-fired menu.
Here, hearty Adirondack flavors come together in a distinctive, welcoming atmosphere, giving travelers and locals a delicious excuse to linger.
Neapolitan-style, hand-made wood-fired pizzas in the Adirondacks.
Their pizza crusts are crisp and chewy, infused with a slight char that only a wood-fired oven can create. Using fresh ingredients, they top their pies with a mix of traditional and inventive toppings that elevate each slice.
Ingredients are locally sourced, and the full bar features local Adirondack breweries.
The restaurant is more than just pizza. The menu includes appetizers and entrees to please everyone in your group, including a “Saplings” menu for the Lil’ ADKers.
We go for the pizza, though. Our favorites include the “Meat Your Match,” which features pepperoni, pancetta, prosciutto, and hot Italian sausage. We also love the “Farm Stand” topped with goat cheese, arugula, parmesan, and balsamic drizzle. Or, if you’re really into ‘shrooms (or awesome puns), go for the “Fun Guy Pie” with fresh mushrooms, mozzarella, parmesan, and truffle oil drizzle.
Authentic Adirondack ambience.
Sticks & Stones blends seamlessly into its wooded surroundings, with timber framing and stone accents that make you feel at home in the Adirondacks. It embodies the rustic yet refined essence that so many travelers seek in the Adirondacks.
Inside, the aesthetic balances rugged charm with thoughtful comfort. Warm wood tones, a massive stone fireplace, and sturdy furniture all add to the “cabin-in-the-woods” vibe, making it ideal for unwinding after hiking, boating, skiing or exploring Schroon Lake.
The centerpiece—a custom-built wood-fired oven surrounded by an open kitchen where you can watch the magic happen—adds to this ambiance. The sight of flames dancing in the oven, the aroma of pizzas baking, and the sounds of laughter and conversation create an atmosphere that feels alive, connecting diners with the authenticity of an Adirondack meal.
We enjoy visiting in the winter when the large stone fireplace is ablaze. But the patio seating is just as fun in the summer. And take-out is available, too.
