One of the world’s leading dance companies comes to the Adirondacks in September.

Renowned for being an innovative, exuberant, and gifted company, Parsons Dance performs at Lake Placid Center for the Arts on Friday, September 20.

Their bold, joyous, and athletic movement has solidified them as one of the world's leading modern dance companies.

They will be in residence in Lake Placid from September 9 to 29, working with gifted choreographer Rena Butler to create a new work. As part of the residency, they will stage a public performance on September 20.

Parsons Dance: creating and performing contemporary American dance of extraordinary artistry for over 34 years.

Parsons Dance was founded in 1985 by artistic director David Parsons and Tony Award-winning lighting designer Howell Binkley. The dance company is renowned for its dynamic and athletic ensemble performances and has collaborated with various iconic artists from different disciplines, including Billy Taylor, Milton Nascimento, Allen Toussaint, William Ivey Long, Donna Karan, Annie Leibovitz, and Alex Katz.

The company has toured more than 380 cities, 22 countries and five continents for the most notable theaters, festivals and presenters worldwide, including The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Maison de la Danse, Teatro La Fenice and Teatro Muncipal do Rio de Janeiro. New York Magazine called Mr. Parsons “one of modern dance’s great living dance-makers.”
