Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ With Scott Hamilton in Lake Placid
Join Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton at the James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval.

Lake Placid’s Olympic Speed Skating Oval.
As part of Lake Placid's celebration of the 45th anniversary of the 1980 Winter Games, Olympic figure skater Scott Hamilton will help raise money for cancer patients nationally and locally.
The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation (CARES) will again present Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ at the James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval at the Lake Placid Olympic Center.
Registered participants fundraise to skate a Frozen 5k (13 laps) at the Skating Oval in the center of Lake Placid.
Proceeds from this skate-a-thon will support CARES' national cancer research projects and the Merrill Oncology Center Travel Fund at Adirondack Health.
Get involved.
Sk8 to Elimin8 is a peer-to-peer fundraising program. Honor someone you know and raise money for cancer research. Are you interested in participating in or supporting this worthy cause? There are several ways you can make a difference.

Impact lives in our community.
Cancer knows no bounds of gender, age, or race - it impacts everyone. This year, it's estimated that more than 1.9 million new cancer cases will be diagnosed in the US alone, and 609,360 people will die.
That's more than one person every minute dying because of this terrible disease.
