Join in a genuine 4th of July Parade in the Adirondacks.
Every summer, Lake Placid puts on a gala Fourth of July Parade through the heart of the village. At 5 pm, the crowd-favorite event features local civic groups, businesses, and individuals. It’s grown to be one of the highlights of the summer season.
The parade begins at the Lake Placide Post Office and continues along Main Street, eventually ending at Saranac Avenue (the High Peaks Resort).
Live music all day at Mid’s Park overlooking Mirror Lake.
Enjoy some of the best local musicians at Mid’s Park, a Lake Placid favorite. This beautiful, green, open space has spectacular views of Mirror Lake and the surrounding mountains. It’s a sweet spot to enjoy great music and celebrate July 4th. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the music with the best view in town.
The music begins with Nubble, an alternative folk band straight out of Saranac Lake in the heart of the Adirondack Tri-Lakes & High Peaks Region. They will take the stage at Mid’s Park at 1 pm.
At 7 pm, the Lake Placid Sinfonietta, the Orchestra of the Adirondacks, will perform a lakeside concert sponsored by Champlain National Bank. They will play classical pops performed by the Lake Placid Sinfonietta. In the event of rain or temperatures below 65, the concert will be moved to the sanctuary of St. Agnes Church on Saranac Ave. in Lake Placid. Rainsite concerts will begin at 7:15.
Spectacular fireworks light up the Adirondack sky.
The day's highlight is Lake Placid's stunning Fourth of July fireworks show, "Set the Night to Music." The fireworks display takes place over Mirror Lake and starts at 9:30 pm. It is synchronized to music, and you can listen to the official soundtrack live on 93.3/102.1 - LAKEfm and 105.5/95.3 FM - Adirondack 105.
Insider tip: The Mirror Lake Public Beach area and the large hill looking over Main Street are great places to watch the fireworks show. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair, pack some snacks and enjoy the show.
