Bushcraft Workshop: Master Wilderness Survival Essential Skills

Newcomb’s AIC Bushcraft series continues in March with a focus on shelter.

Learn how to filter and purify water for drinking and cooking at the Adirondack Interpretive Center in Newcomb, NY.

The Adirondack Interpretive Center hosts a hands-on bushcraft workshop series. Learn essential wilderness survival skills. Each session focuses on a different element critical to thriving in the outdoors.

The workshop on March 22 delves into the art of shelter-building, emphasizing techniques that utilize natural resources.

Participants will engage in hands-on activities to design and construct sturdy, weatherproof structures that offer protection from the elements.

Building a shelter in the wild using natural materials.

Learn to construct sturdy, waterproof wilderness structures.

Throughout the session, they will explore various materials found in nature, learning how to harness these resources creatively and effectively to create secure havens that withstand the challenges of the outdoors.

Future workshops include:

  • Saturday, April 26 at 9 am: Land Navigation - Learn essential land navigation skills, including map reading, compass use, and route planning, to confidently explore the outdoors.

These workshops are suitable for beginners and seasoned adventurers alike. They will equip participants with vital bushcraft skills for the optimal wilderness experience.
