This is a fundraising event to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome to participate. Participants can win prizes for Best Costume, Most Money Raised by an Individual, Most Money Raised by a Team and Best Plunge Technique.

Fundraising efforts support Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) programs and services, provided at no cost to warriors and their families. Pre-registration materials and Wounded Warrior Pledge sheets are available online and at the Long Lake Town Office Building, 1130 Deerland Road, on weekdays from 8:30 am to 5 pm. Call 518-624-3077 for more information.

There is a minimum of $25 per person for a fundraising donation to participate. All proceeds go directly to the Wounded Warrior.

The Adirondack Hotel is your Plunge Day HQ.

Participants are requested to report to the Adirondack Hotel between 11 am and 11:30 am on the day of the Plunge. The Plunge itself will take place at the nearby Town Beach. The Long Lake Fire Department will be at the site to cut the ice and ensure the safety of the Polar Bears. The Long Lake Rescue Squad will also be present to check participants’ blood pressure. The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking volunteers to hand out towels and handle registrations at the site.

Participants are asked to bring towels, robes, warm clothes and must wear shoes. The location has a heated public restroom, and plungers will have access to the building to change and warm up.
