Get in the Holiday Spirit in the Adirondack Village of Lake Placid
A weekend of festive activities awaits in the Olympic Village in the Adirondacks High Peaks region.
The Holiday Village Stroll is a beloved tradition in Lake Placid. It takes place over three days and is perfect for families, couples looking for a romantic getaway, or anyone who wants to get into the Holiday spirit.
The event is set in the enchanting winter wonderland of Lake Placid, New York. The Holiday Stroll offers a variety of fun and exciting activities, such as a skating party, photo sessions with Santa, wine tastings, live musical performances, a free movie screening, Santa Sunday at nearby Whiteface Mount, a scavenger hunt, a massive Holiday Parade through town, and much more.
Organizers have planned an entire weekend of activities at many of Lake Placid’s most popular places.
Start your weekend off right with fun activities on Friday, December 8, during Lake Placid's Holiday Village Stroll in the Adirondacks.
Event organizers are wasting no time ensuring that Holiday Strollers have plenty of options to help them get into the festive spirit.
Among the activities planned at some of Lake Placid’s top destinations are:
Wine tasting — 3 to 7 pm at Terry Robards Wine & Spirits
Family skating party — 5 to 6:30 pm at the Olympic Center 1932 Rink (allegedly, a jolly bearded man in a red suit may make an appearance
Live music — 6 to 9 pm at Generations Tap & Grill at the Golden Arrow Resort featuring Scott Sileo
Ugly sweater party — 6 to 9 pm at The Cottage at Mirror Lake Inn.
The festive seasonal fun continues in Lake Placid on Saturday, December 9.
You may be tempted to stay nestled for a long wintry nap on Saturday morning, but you won’t want to miss a minute of the holiday action on Saturday; you can get your cardio in at the Jingle Bell Run, pick up unique gifts from local artisans, make crafts, and attend a holiday sing-a-long all before lunchtime.
Current activities scheduled for Saturday are:
Jingle Bell Run — 8:30 am at Mirror Lake Beach House. Help support the Fit for Life Scholarship Program! Join the festive, colorful, holiday spirit-filled 2.5-mile run/walk around Mirror Lake. For more information and to register online, visit the race webpage.
Holiday Craft Fair — 10 am to 2 pm at the Adirondack Community Church.
Craft-making, Fun & Games — 10 am to 3 pm at Lake Placid Library.
Sing-along and Storytime — 11 am at St. Eustace Church. Julie Jingles sets the tone with a holiday sing-along before reading her book, The Reindeer Games.
Santa arrives! — Noon at Mid’s Park. Santa and his elves will roll up in a firetruck to greet everyone and take photos.
Meet Sprinkles — Noon to 5 pm. at Little Blue House boutique. Meet and take photos with SPRINKLES! He will be handing out free cookies and candy canes. All children can pick out a free holiday ornament to take home (while supplies last.)
More Craft Time — 1:30 to 3:30 pm at St. Agnes Church.
Wine Tasting — 2 to 5 pm at The Boat Tasting Room. Enjoy a complimentary tasting from Coyote Moon Winery.
Maker’s Market — 2 to 5 pm at Alpine Mall in the heart of downtown Lake Placid. Stop by this open-air farmer’s market event and enjoy products produced in the Adirondack region. The Market will benefit The North Elba Christmas Fund.
Dartmouth Decibelles — Holiday Strollers have two opportunities to see Dartmouth College’s oldest historically female a cappella group perform. Catch them at 4 pm at Mid’s Park (just before the Tree Lighting Ceremony). They will also perform at 7 pm at Lake Placid Pub & Brewery.
Tree Lighting — 5 pm at Mid’s Park.
Live Music — 5 pm to 8 pm at The Lake House. Double Axel performs good-time rock and roll.

The fun is far from over on Sunday morning. Fantastic events are planned, including the annual holiday parade through the Village of Lake Placid.
Santa Ski — 8 am to 4:30 pm at Whiteface Mountain. Dress like Santa and ski for free at one of the East Coast’s most celebrated ski resorts. This is an experience not to be missed.
Dartmouth Decibelles — 11:30 am at Big Slide Brewery & Public House offers one last chance to see Dartmouth College’s oldest historically female a cappella group perform.
“The Polar Express” Movie — 11 am at The Palace Theater. It’s the annual matinee screening of the holiday favorite. The first 200 children (under 12) receive a memorable holiday gift.
Chris Kringle Caravan — 4 pm throughout Lake Placid Village. The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department leads the way in this festive holiday event. Locals can join in the Parade if they decorate their vehicles. The Parade commences at the Fire Department. Check out the parade route.
