Schroon Lake's 38th Annual Olde Tyme Christmas features two days of festive family activities.
Starting Friday, December 8, the Village of Schroon Lake will transform into a magical holiday wonderland for its 38th Annual Olde Tyme Christmas Celebration. This family-oriented, town-wide event has been running for 38 years and will include various holiday activities organized by local businesses and organizations.
Celebrate the holidays in a charming Adirondack village.
The whole town of Schroon Lake comes together to make its annual Christmas festival the best it can be. This year’s highlights include:
A silent auction of 10 decorated live Christmas trees from a local farm
Family Ornament Hunt with over 300 hidden ornaments from Main Street to the beach, with prizes awarded for the most ornaments gathered
Polar Plunge fundraiser
Crafts and other family activities
Horse-drawn wagon rides
Live musical performances and caroling
Holiday parade, tree lighting and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus
Holiday festivities begin on Friday, December 8, in picturesque Schroon Lake.
Noon to 4 pm — Festival of Trees Silent Auction at Schroon Lake Community Church
5 to 7 pm — Holiday Decorating Contest Judging (contact the Chamber of Commerce for more information)
7:30 pm — Champlain Valley Chorale Concert at Schroon Lake Community Chuch — enjoy merry holiday music and light refreshments.
The holiday magic continues on Saturday, December 9.
9 am to 4 pm — Holiday Basket Raffle at the Chamber of Commerce
10 am to 4 pm — Festival of Trees Silent Auction continues at Schroon Lake Community Church
10 am to 2 pm — Special Holiday Book Sale at the Hudson Headwaters (behind Town Hall)
10 am to 2 pm — Arts & Crafts Show and Bake Sale at Schroon Lake Community Church
10 am to 2 pm — Christmas Crafts for Kids and Adults at the Schroon Lake Public Library
11 am — 5th Annual Polar Plunch at the Town Hall Boat Launch (pre-registration required)
Noon — Family Ornament Hunt (sign up at the Chamber of Commerce)
Noon to 2 pm — Holiday Tunes at the Schroon Lake Community Church
1:30 to 3 pm — Street Carolers on Main Street
2 to 4 pm — Horse & Wagon Rides— Town Hall Parking Lot (free!)
4 to 6 pm — Holiday Mocktail Party Family Friendly Event at Schroon Lake Community Church
5 pm — Tree Lighting and Caroling at the corner of Dock Street
5:30 pm — Light Up Main Street & Holiday Lights Parade
6 to 7 pm — Santa & Mrs. Claus at the Strand Theater on Main Street
