The one-day event pays tribute to the late Dmitry Feld, a longtime community member and marketing manager of USA Luge. Feld organized the original I Love BBQ and Music Festival Feld and raised money for the Shipman Youth Center. Over the past 17 years, the event has raised $350,000, with all proceeds benefitting the center.

The Shipman Youth Center, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community organization, supports children and youth ages 10 to18. Thomas Shipman, a designated Lake Placid youth police officer who died in 1995 inspired the organization. The center was built in his honor with community donations of money, materials and labor.

The SYC has provided services to over 6,000 different children. Programs include homework time and assistance, community services, recreational services, weekly family-style dinners, dances, and guest speakers. SYC provides a supervised, safe and exciting environment where local children can grow and develop as

individuals.
