How long will the eclipse last in Blue Mountain Lake?
The entire eclipse lasts for approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes in Blue Mountain Lake.
Phase one in the Path of Totality — first contact (aka partial eclipse) begins at 2:12 pm — As the moon starts to move in front of the sun, a small curved section of the sun starts to disappear, marking the beginning of the partial eclipse. As the moon gradually makes its way across the sun's face, the world around you gradually darkens.
Total Eclipse begins at 3:25 pm — “Totality” occurs when the moon fully covers the sun, plunging the area into an eerie and captivating darkness. This is the onset of the total eclipse, a rare and unforgettable experience that few witness in their lifetime. In Blue Mountain Lake, totality lasts for 2 minutes and 40 seconds of darkness. For a full simulation, check out this webpage.
Total Eclipse ends at approximately 3:28 pm — After the exhilarating minutes of totality, the moon moves away from the sun. The return of sunlight begins, marking the end of the total eclipse. The moon continues its journey across the sun until it entirely moves away.
Eclipse 2024 in Blue Mountain Lake concludes at 4:37 pm.
