Chestertown’s Crossroads Country Store: An Adirondack Emporium
Ammo, camo, live bait, Boar’s Head cold cuts, Woolrich flannel, fly rods and flies, books, Made in the Adirondack gifts and candles, artisanal chocolates, and over 100 craft beers - if the Crossroads doesn’t have it, you don’t need it.
Are you getting ready for a major outdoor excursion or preparing for a night by the campfire? The Crossroads in Chestertown has what you need.
The Crossroads, like many ADK businesses, is family-owned. Just barely east of the Exit 25 off-ramp from the Adirondack Northway (I-87), they offer pretty much everything you require for a delightful stay in the ADK winter, spring, summer or fall.
Adjacent to several campgrounds, customers count on The Crossroads for essential grocery items. It’s our go-to place for ice, propane, Oscar’s Smokehouse products, and live bait. Try and top that, Wegman’s or Wholefoods.
In the summer months, we stop by for delicious ice cream. They also rent supplies for all the water sports - paddleboards and other stuff.
Any time of year, it’s fun to stop by and peruse The Crossroad’s other offerings. They have a large selection of outdoor gear, socks, hats, boots, mittens, and other ADK equipment. They have a nifty book selection with hiking guidebooks, ADK history and general interest, and a nice selection of inspirational reads if that is your jam.
We’ve also found that the Crossroads is a great spot for picking up a last-minute gift — beautiful artisanal candles, chocolates, soaps, and other fine gift items.
