The Adirondack Interpretive Center in Newcomb is offering its Winter Wander Walks again this season. Join a relaxed, guided walk or snowshoe along the scenic Rich Lake Trail and explore the history of the Huntington Wildlife Forest, the Adirondacks, and the region’s logging heritage.

Explore this easy 0.7-mile loop and embark on a delightful journey through the enchanting beauty of winter nature. Along the way, hikers will meander through various diverse habitats, immersing themselves in the tranquil sights and sounds of the season.

A trail highlight is a charming raised boardwalk that gracefully weaves through a stunning cedar swamp, offering a unique perspective of this serene ecosystem. As you stroll, take in the breathtaking views of the Goodnow Fire Tower, which stands majestically against the winter landscape, creating a picturesque backdrop for this memorable outdoor experience.

This trail, perfect for all skill levels, promises a peaceful and enriching experience in the heart of the Adirondacks. Snowshoes or microspikes are available at the Interpretive Center.
