CAP-PY Rubber Duck Derby in Old Forge
Watch as 3,000 rubber ducks sail down the Moose River for a good cause.
LivingADK hosts its annual Rubber Duck Derby to raise funds for its important activities, which are focused on nurturing and supporting vibrant and sustainable year-round Adirondack communities. LivingADK achieves these goals by promoting economic development, social responsibility and a balance between commerce and nature.
Watch as thousands of rubber ducks are released into the Moose River near the covered bridge (ADK Bank Parking Lot) and dam in Old Forge on SR 28 on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend.
Come and join the fun with music, grilled hotdogs, face painting, corn hole and the excitement swirling around the event.
Adopt a single duck for $5 or a "Flock of 5" ducks for $20 and cheer them on, as the speediest duck can win you one of 18 wonderful prizes donated by our generous local business owners. Starting mid-June through Labor Day weekend, ducks can be adopted at the Friday Old Forge Farmers Market or at the Old Forge Visitor Information Center.
All proceeds go towards LivingADK in our mission to promote healthy, vibrant and growing communities in the West Central Adirondacks.
