Titus Mt. Family Ski Center Hosts Mountain Madness Celebration
Enjoy a family-friendly day of fun at one of New York’s hidden gem ski areas.
Titus Mountain Family Ski Center in upstate New York will host their annual Mountain Madness event to celebrate ski season on March 9. 2024. Events include:
Live music
Cardboard box sled races
Penguin paddle — participants wear a plastic garbage bag over their jackets and race down the slopes on their bellies like a penguin
Ski racing
Pancake breakfast
Face painting
S’Mores by the fire pit
Fireworks
And don’t miss Titus Teddy and Shredding Betty. They will be roaming the mountain throughout the day, so make sure to say hello when you see them.
A day-long schedule of fun winter events for the whole family.
9 – 11:30 am — Pancake Breakfast at the Moon Valley Grill. Three flapjacks, a choice of sausage or bacon, Moon Valley Maple Syrup for $10.99. Mimosa specials will be available, too.
10 am — Family Race on the Face (lift ticket required). Sign up at the Event Table individually or as a family for the special “Fastest Family on the Mountain” race.
11 am - 2 pm — Face Painting at the lower lodge. Free and fun for both kids and adults
11 am – 3 pm — The Moon Valley Maple Sugar Shack will be open for free tours and questions about making maple syrup. Free samples will be provided.
Noon — Kids’ Ski Obstacle Course Race (lift ticket required). Up, down, under and around—see what kind of skills you have.
1 pm — Penguin Paddle. Multiple age groups will compete, from 0-5 to 18 and over. Participants wear a plastic garbage bag over their jackets and race down the slopes on their bellies like penguins.
1-4 pm — Live Music with The Backwood Burners
2 pm — Cardboard Sled Race. Two age groups: 12 & under and 13 & over. Registration required. Be sure to read the rules and regulations.
3 pm — Pond Skimming (lift ticket and registration required). How dry can you stay skimming across a 50-foot pond in the snow?
5 pm — Moon Valley Parks Rail Jam (lift ticket required). Titus Mountain officials will pick one of their rail features; contestants show off their best trick for a chance to win some Titus Swag or prize packs
5 pm — Raffle Giveaway Drawings — Snowboards, and other Merch
5 – 7 pm — S’Mores! Titus Mountain provides all the fixings for yummy treats at the fire pit – all ages welcome – until they run out.
5 – 9 pm —Live Music from Divided Roads
7 pm — Fireworks! Mountain Madness Organizers suggest you show up early, just in case - twilight ends at 6:30 pm).
