An Adirondack Winter Birding Weekend in Long Lake
On Saturday, January 27, and Sunday, January 28, 2024, Joan Collins, an Adirondack avian guide, leads Adirondack winter birding expeditions in Long Lake, NY, in the Central Adirondacks.
The free tours present an excellent opportunity to gain the expertise to spot and listen for the ADK’s most treasured feathered friends.
The Central Adirondacks is the place to spot boreal finches, White-winged Crossbills, Red Crossbills and more. Birders anticipate a terrific winter of bird viewing with flocks of White-winged Crossbills visiting from our northern Canadian neighbors.
These birds like food; the summer provided plenty of cones for our feathered friends. Bring your binoculars and winter gear to get visuals on these premiere winter visitors to the Central Adirondacks.
As part of Long Lake’s Winter Birding Weekend, there will be a presentation at the Adirondack Hotel on Saturday, January 29, at 4 pm that is open to the public.
Joan Collins is a certified guide with Adirondack Avian Expeditions. This event is free, but you must sign up in advance as there are limited spots. Register by calling 518.624.3077.
