The ADKX Hosts an Adirondack Avian Walk in Long Lake in the Central Adirondacks
Attention all wildlife photographers, whether you're a professional or an amateur, the ADKX invites you to join Joan Collins, NYS Guide and President of Adirondack Avian Expeditions (and not the star of 80s classic “Dynasty”) and Brisbane Young, a wildlife photographer, on a half-day birding tour around the central Adirondack hamlet of Long Lake.
In the morning, participants will visit different excellent birding locations around town, where they can spot, listen to, and capture images of the local bird population. After that, tour members will head to the historic Adirondack Hotel to have lunch and relax in the afternoon.
Don't miss this opportunity to explore and photograph the beautiful wildlife of Long Lake with expert guides.
A few notes:
This experience requires traveling to and from various locations around Long Lake. ADKX will NOT be providing transportation. Participants are required to have access to a vehicle. Carpooling is encouraged.
This event is appropriate for amateur and expert wildlife photographers of all levels.
Participants are required to provide their own camera(s) and camera equipment.
This experience requires participants to spend several hours outdoors in cold temperatures and will require walking and hiking through wooded areas.
The organizers recommend winter hiking boots, hats, gloves, plenty of layers, and avoiding cotton.
Participants may wish to bring micro-spikes and trekking poles based on personal preference.
Cost: $50/ADKX member, $75/non-members.
Visit the ADKX website to register.
