The Inn on Lake Champlain
Immerse yourself in flora and fauna of the Adirondacks at this 1870 Victorian Farmhouse.
The Inn on Lake Champlain sits on 440 acres of stunning farmland and wilderness on Lake Champlain's southwestern edge. Guests are close enough to the myriad diversions of the Adirondack Park while also being ensconced on a picturesque working farm.
Inn visitors enjoy fabulous views of historic Lake Champlain while feeling the fresh lake breezes intermingling with the delicious mountain air of the Adirondacks while destressing in an environment that evokes simpler times.
Guests don’t have to leave the property to experience the best of the ADK – they will find hiking trails and interaction with farm animals on the family-run inn’s property. The owners continue to evolve the experiences available at the inn. They will soon offer horseback riding at the Inn for beginner through advanced riders seeking a cruelty-free equine learning experience.
Immersion in farm life doesn’t stop there. The innkeepers welcome guests to participate in all sorts of farm activities – putting in the hay, clearing brush, building and repairing fences, stacking firewood, tending the garden, and caring for livestock. Honestly, they might give guests one of the most challenging workouts they’ve had in a while, all while helping them connect to the land and become attuned to the seasons.
However, it’s important to emphasize there is no obligation to do anything. If you’re looking for a place to disconnect, chill out and just relax, the Inn on Lake Champlain may be your answer.
The inn consists of four Victorian-inspired and tastefully decorated guest rooms, each with private, en-suite bathrooms. The bedding is 600-count cotton for a beyond comfortable night of sleep. Guests have access to two parlors, a formal dining room, a wrap-around porch, and outdoor living areas.
The innkeepers serve an incredible breakfast created from the freshest seasonal, local, organic, and natural ingredients served at half-past eight o'clock in the morning. And oh, what a breakfast it is: first, they serve it on elegant, antique English transfer-ware, depicting historic scenes of Canton Port and New York Harbor. Guests may be offered decadent chocolate éclairs, savory, fresh breakfast breads, crêpes, french toast, pancakes, fruit tarts, crème brûlée, quiche, cinnamon buns, Monte Cristo, streusel, coffee cake, scones, or other pastries, along with fresh fruit, farm-fresh eggs, and breakfast meats. And don’t forget the freshly roasted coffee, tea, and espresso, homemade granola, yogurt, hot oatmeal, and toppings.
Guests can rent out the entire inn and work with the innkeepers to create a bespoke stay and itinerary. It’s also a popular spot for intimate weddings and celebrations. Your hosts will work with you to create the perfect stay for you and your friends, family, and loved ones.
The inn is owned and operated by a lovely young family, so Lil’ ADKers are very welcome. Visit their website for more information and to book your stay.
