Where to Ski Now in the Adirondacks - January 17
Our ski editors report on the best places to ski in the Adirondack Mountains now.
January 17, 2024
The c-c-c-cold weather continued in the Adirondack Mountains this week. Our intrepid ski editorial team reports that several of their favorite ski destinations have benefitted from some lovely, fresh powder. And the cold weather creates the perfect conditions for snowmaking.
The weather report at this moment is telling us we could get a break from recent arctic conditions. Temperatures are rising out of the single digits to the 20s and low 30s. But the weather can change rapidly in the Adirondacks, so be prepared.
If you’re on the slopes, take frequent breaks inside ski lodges and stay hydrated. Also, dress appropriately in warm, moisture-wicking layers (cotton can kill in cold weather).
