Guided Sensory Snowshoe Walk with Adirondack River Walking
Experience the enchanting beauty of a winter forest in the Adirondacks. Immerse yourself in nature's sights, sounds, scents, and textures. Indulge in a two-hour guided snowshoe walk on the gentle trails surrounding The Wild Center.
Sensory Snowshoeing is a winter version of the wellness practice of Forest Bathing, originally translated from the Japanese Shinrin-Yoku. It means immersing your senses in the natural atmosphere.
Suzanne Weirich, a certified Forest Therapy Guide, will lead the group on this relaxing journey, inviting participants to recover from the stress of daily life. Research studies have shown that it can lower blood pressure and levels of the stress hormone cortisol and improve our immune system’s ability to fight infection.
The Wild Center will provide snowshoes free of cost.
