Celebrating 100 Years of the Northville-Placid Trail
The Adirondack Experience in Blue Mountain Lake marks the NPT’s centennial.
Put on your best hiking apparel and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Northville-Placid Trail at ADKX, located (roughly) near the halfway mark of the trail in Hamilton County.
Start your day with a guided nature walk with Naturalist, Adirondack Guide, and Author Ed Kanze along a section of the NPT in the Blue Mountain Wilderness Area. Head over to the ADKX campus in the afternoon for a campfire, s’mores, and stories from the trail. Listen to a program by Julia Goren, Deputy Executive Director of the Adirondack Mountain Club, at 2 pm, and tour ADKX’s new temporary exhibit Trail Makers: 100 Years of the Northville-Placid Trail.
A full day of events celebrating the legendary Northville Placid Trail.
All day long, visitors to the ADKX will have an opportunity to check out the recently added exhibit — Trail Makers: The Story of the Northville-Placid Trail. They can also participate in an NPT-themed scavenger hunt. And Lil’ ADKers can make popsicle stick lean-to’s in the ADKX Art Lab.
Other activities include.
