Watch artists pour, flip, and create intricate designs that turn simple pancake batter into edible masterpieces.
Events include choose-your-own pancakes, maple trivia giveaways, and pancake art competitions. Artist-designed pancakes are included with admission (One per person as time and supplies last). The Pancake Brunch will take place inside The Wild Center's cafe and will be available to ticketed visitors for an additional $13.25, with a lighter option available for $8.50.
A purely Adirondack maple interactive experience.
Guided tours of the on-site sugar shack at The Wild Center will offer ticketed visitors a glimpse into collecting sap from maple trees and exploring the techniques involved in transforming sap into maple syrup.
In addition to the maple-themed festivities, The Wild Center is excited to invite local community members to join its innovative Community Maple Project, one of the first initiatives of its kind in the state.
Residents within a 5-mile radius of the museum are encouraged to participate by tapping maple trees in their own yards, with assistance and equipment from The Wild Center.
Once collected, the sap will be returned to the Center for processing into maple syrup, with participating community members receiving 70% of the syrup produced from their contributed juice. Those interested in joining the Community Maple Project may email maple@wildcenter.org for further information.
"We are thrilled to be part of New York Maple Weekends and share the magic of maple sugaring with our community,” said Nick Gunn, Marketing Director at The Wild Center. “It's an opportunity for people of all ages to connect with nature, learn about our local environment, and celebrate the arrival of spring."
