37th Annual New Year’s Day Frostbite Cruise on Lake George
Celebrate the new year by cruising the waters of one of the Adirondack’s most loved lakes.
Join a longstanding Adirondack tradition and kick off 2024 with a relaxing cruise on Lake George, also known as the Queen of the American Lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Southern Adirondacks during winter aboard The Adirondac, a luxurious 115-foot-long ship that can accommodate up to 400 passengers.
The 1.5-hour Frostbite Cruise has two scheduled cruises on January 1, 2024. Cruisers receive drink tickets that can be redeemed for beer, wine, or champagne and enjoy warming comfort food and live music to make the experience even more enjoyable.
Take a cruise on the iconic Adirondac: Turn-of-the-century design meets state-of-the-art technology.
You’ll be cruising into 2014 on Waterfront Cruises’ beautiful 115-foot-long Adirondac watercraft, featuring classic turn-of-the-century design combined with state-of-the-art technology. This vessel was inspired by the glamourous late-19th century touring ships.
The Adirondac was created with the comfort of the passenger in mind. The boat is accessible to people with ambulatory disabilities. The first deck is heated, and two full-service bars are located on the first and second decks. Accessible restrooms are available on board, as well.
The computer-controlled engines are quiet and isolated for sound and vibration reduction, which Waterfront Cruises claims make the Adirondac the quietest luxury ship on Lake George. The hull is entirely made of aluminum and is trimmed out with mahogany and cedar. With the backdrop of the great Adirondack Mountains and the beauty of Lake George, it’s easy to see how this is a magnificent way to cruise into 2024.
A Lake George New Year’s Tradition.
The Frostbite Cruise has become a Lake George New Year’s Day tradition. Locals and visitors alike look forward to this event every year, and this is the 37th anniversary of the cruise.
Cruises for New Year's Day in 2024 are scheduled for two different times - at noon and at 2:30 pm. However, if Lake George is frozen over, the party will take place on the dock, and the boat will not sail.
For many locals and frequent visitors of Lake George, this New Year's tradition is quite special. It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the start of 2024 on one of America's most beautiful lakes, and we think it beats the snot out of taking the Polar Plunge.
Post-cruise, join the afterparty at the Lighthouse Grill, featuring live music by The Refrigerators.
