A perfect end to a spectacular season at Long Lake’s Annual paddling competition.
The Northern Forest Canoe Trail closes out the Adirondack Race Series each year by partnering with Long Lake Recreation and Tourism to host the Long Lake Long Boat Regatta. A competitive event featuring war canoes and C4 boats kicks off from Long Lake Town Beach around 11 am.
Hosted in partnership with Long Lake Recreation and Tourism, the Regatta features the North American Voyageur Canoe Championships, the Adirondack Kayak Championship and the Northeastern College Cup race for co-ed (two male and two female) C-4 Stock teams along with the “Everything Goes” race.
Spectators are encouraged to attend. Paddlers from all over the northeast converge on this fun yet competitive event.
Event details.
Here’s what you need to know for race day:
On-site registration will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the gazebo on Long Lake Town Beach
The race starts at 11 am
Boats paddle to the south end of the lake and then back up toward Round Island and back to Long Lake’s public beach
The Adirondack Hotel will provide chili and cornbread at the finish line on the beach in Long Lake. Food service begins at noon, and the proceeds will benefit the Long Lake Lions and scholarship funds for kids to participate in week-long paddling trips in the Adirondacks next summer
Capping off a great paddling season.
In a recent Adirondack Alamanack article, NFCT Executive Director Karrie Thomas provided a glowing assessment of the current year. “The 2023 race season has been incredible,” according to Thomas. “The paddling community is coming off the 40th running of the Adirondack Canoe Classic, which was a huge success. The Long Lake Long Boat Regatta is a perfect way to come together one more time for a low-key race and to celebrate paddling in the Adirondacks.”
