Saturday at the 50th Adirondack Balloon Festival
This is a four-day event — Thursday-Sunday, September 21-24, 2023
Rise and shine on Saturday morning, September 23rd, for the 50th Annual Adirondack Balloon Festival at Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury.
The gates will open at 4:30 am. At approximately 5:45 am, 5 to 10 balloons will launch in the dark just before dawn as a special event commemorating the 50th Anniverisary.
Another 70+ balloons, including special shapes, launch at approximately at 7 am for the day’s first launch.
In the afternoon and evening, enjoy food vendors, the Zonta craft fair, other exhibitors, activities for Lil ‘ADKers and more.
Music performances include The K&O Show, 2-4 pm, and The Ryan Montbleau Band, 5-7 pm.
The second launch of the day occurs at approximately 5:30 pm. Half the balloons will launch again for flight, and the remaining half will stay at the airport and prepare for the Moonglow (tethered balloons illuminate the night sky) to be held approximately at 7:30-8:00 pm.
