Frozen Fire & Lights: Inlet’s Annual Winter Carnival

The Town of Inlet in the Central Adirondacks celebrates it’s 23rd annual Winter Carnival, Frozen Fire & Lights. This day-long event features numerous events and super fun activities for the whole family.

Enjoy free cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails, ice skating and sledding at Fern Park. You can also enjoy a free pancake breakfast, cardboard sled racing, wine tasting, outhouse races, bonfires, and fireworks.

A full day of terrific activities.

Some of the events planned for Inlet’s Winter Carnival include:

  • Free pancake breakfast — 8:30 to 11:30 am at the Inlet Community Church

  • Coronation of the Frozen Royals (King, Queen, and Princess) — 10 am at Legion Square near Town Hall

  • Noah’s Ark Animal Workshop — 10 am to Noon at Inlet Town Hall (benefitting Inlet Youth Commission)

  • Book Sale and Kite Pickup — 10 am to 2 pm at Inlet Public Library

  • Cardboard Sled Race — 1 pm at Fern Park

  • Kite Decorating and Flying — 2 to 3:30 pm at The Woods Inn

  • Wine Tasting — 2 pm to 5 pm; this free event is at Fourth Lake Wine & Spirits

  • Outhouse Races — A perennial Adirondack winter event will take place at 3 pm at The Woods Inn

  • Bonfire — Get warm and enjoy free hot dogs, treats and warm beverages at Arrowhead Park at 4 pm

  • Fireworks — Cap of a fantastic day with a beautiful fireworks display at 6 pm at Arrowhead Par,

Ice skating is a long-time Adirondack favorite winter activity.

All day long, immerse yourself in the beauty of Inlet’s Fern Park, a winter wonderland brimming with activities for outdoor enthusiasts.

With its expansive network of winding trails, you can embark on snowshoeing or cross-country skiing adventures amidst the serene, snow-covered landscape.

For those seeking a thrill, the park boasts a delightful sledding hill perfect for exhilarating rides down its slopes.

Additionally, enjoy the enchanting charm of an enclosed ice skating rink, where you can glide gracefully across the ice. All of the park’s offerings are free of charge.
