Friday events, December 13

Christmas in Schroon Lake kicks off with a variety of events on Friday, December 13. They include:

• Festival of Trees Auction Preview - Schroon Lake Community Church

• Holiday Decorating Contest Judging - Contact the Chamber of Commerce to enter

• A special Movie Presentation, “A Jar Full of Christmas,” shot on location in the Adirondacks. The screening takes place at The Bevy at The Lodge at Schroon Lake at 7 pm — enjoy hot cocoa, cider, coffee and cookies courtesy of The Lodge!

The festivities continue on Saturday, December 14

• 6th Annual Polar Plunge at 11 am at the Town Boat Launch. Join the Presenting Sponsor, The Lodge at Schroon Lake, for an epic bonfire and hot refreshments before and after the Plunge. Pre-registration is required — contact the Chamber of Commerce. Sponsored by the Town of Schroon & The Lodge at Schroon Lake

• Holiday Basket Raffle 9 am to 4 pm - Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce

• Special Holiday Book Sale at Hudson Headwaters Health Network (behind Town Hall). Support the Library at the final sale of the year

• Arts & Crafts Show and Bake Sale at the Schroon Lake Community Church

• Christmas Crafts for Kids & Adults at the Schroon Lake Public Library

• Festival of Trees Silent Auction at the Schroon Lake Community Church. Place your final bids by 4 pm

• Family Ornament Hunt at noon — Sign up at the Chamber to look for hundreds of ornaments hidden around town. Sponsored by the Schroon Lake Chamber of Commerce

• Holiday Tunes from noon to 2 pm at the Schroon Lake Community Church

• Strolling Carolers from 1:30 pm to 3 pm

• Horse & Wagon Rides at 2 pm at Schroon Lake’s-Town Hall Parking Lot — Enjoy a FREE beautiful winter ride along the lake

• Town Tree Lighting Ceremony - Corner of Dock & Main Street at 5 pm

• Light Up Main Street and Holiday Lights Parade at 5:15 pm. Luminarias will line Main Street for the Parade. Fire, EMS & Friends will travel from SLCS to Dock Street

• Holiday “Mocktail” Party at Schroon Lake Community Church from 5:30 to 6:30 pm.

• Santa & Mrs. Claus at the Strand Theater from 6 pm to 7 pm
