Spring Birding in the Central Adirondacks
The Adirondack Interpretive Center hosts another birding walk to greet returning avian migrants.
Join a group of bird enthusiasts for a pleasant walk to observe and identify the latest arriving migrant birds at Newcomb's Adirondack Interpretive Center (AIC).
Join local birder Charlotte Demers for a bird walk to look for our early arriving avian migrants. Depending on trail and weather conditions, the group will either walk along Rich Lake Marsh on the private Huntington Wildlife Forest or explore the trails at the AIC to see which resident and migrant birds are in the area.
The walk is an easy ramble of about 1.5 miles and will be great for beginning birders. Meet at 1 pm at the AIC in Newcomb.
The guides recommend that participants plan on 3 hours of slow birding. They also suggest dressing appropriately for the weather and bringing water and a snack.
Registration for the event is required. Sign up online or email shample@esf.edu to register. For the latest information, visit AIC’s Facebook page.
