Schroon Lake Porch Fest: Live Music All Day Long

Celebrate worldwide “play music on the porch day” in the charming village of Schroon Lake.

What if, for one day, everything stopped? And we all just listened to the music.

That’s the concept behind Play Music on the Porch Day, a global effort to get people to go outside and play music.

So, in 2014, a group of musicians decided to share this idea with the world, and to their surprise, the idea spread even faster than we could have ever imagined.

By 2018, thousands of musicians from at least 70 countries and thousands of cities participated, and the movement continued to grow. Regardless of their differences, musicians from across the globe find common ground through music.

Play Music On The Porch Day acknowledges that music is powerful and universal. It doesn’t matter if you play an Oud, a Guitarrón, a Nyckelharpa, or a Guitar. When you pick up your instrument and play, the world disappears, and you get lost in the sounds.

Music goes beyond words. It can transcend the most challenging barriers. It ties us together like a thread through our hearts. Our skin is many colors, but music is in our blood, our bones and our soul.

The jamming starts at 1 pm in on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in the heart of Schroon Lake Village on Main Street, Leland Avenue, Broad Street, and Dock Street.
