Welcome to our latest installment of "Where in the ADK?" This week’s virtual scavenger hunt takes us to Tupper Lake’s Wild Center and its annual winter light display, Wild Lights.

Every winter, travelers visit this magical winter experience in Tupper Lake. This annual exhibition transforms the Wild Center's campus into a dazzling wonderland of light and sound, perfect for families and visitors of all ages.

An immersive experience of light and sound in the Adirondack wilds.

As visitors wander through the illuminated Wild Walk after dark, they are transported to a world of enchantment. The stunning display of thousands of lights is truly a sight to behold. But it’s more than just a light display.

The exhibit features

  • A looped trail with over 130 trees wrapped in colorful lights and accompanied by a musical soundtrack

  • Hand-carved ice sculptures

  • Synchronized light and sound experience in the woods

  • Interactive lighting on the Wild Walk that allows visitors to turn lights off and on

  • Awesome photo ops

  • Hot cocoa bar

The Wild Supply Co. will be available for shopping, and indoor experiences will be open, including Planet Adirondack and the Living River Trail, where guests can watch North American River Otters play.

A new forest music soundtrack.

Premiering this winter, Wild Lights features a new custom composition from Whatever Penny.  Radiance, a 6-part composition, is meant to evoke fond winter memories, like playing outside on snowy days when you were a child, catching up with friends you haven’t seen in ages on a late night, reflecting by the fireside, or a peaceful walk at night. Each song is designed to paint a picture of these winter scenes.

Wild Lights is open Fridays and Saturdays from 5 pm until 8 pm, now until February 24, 2024.

They are also open nightly during holiday weeks – December 26 through December 31, 2023,  and February 16 through February 24, 2024.

Tickets are available online.
