Glens Falls’ Fenimore’s Pub: A Perfect Spot for a Cocktail and a Delicious Bite to Eat
Gastropub in the Queensbury Hotel, a historic gem in the Southern Adirondacks.
Fenimore’s Pub is the perfect spot for a casual lunch or dinner in downtown Glens Falls. The nearly 100-year-old hotel has maintained its historic charm while undergoing numerous updates and upgrades over the years, and the impressive results show. Fenimore’s recent facelift gives it a contemporary vibe, making it a terrific spot to enjoy a stylish handcrafted cocktail.
With views of City Park in the center of Glens Falls, Fenimore's creative menu with dishes made from fresh ingredients is the perfect recipe for a relaxing meal.
Among our favorites on the menu are the Charcuterie and Cheese Board, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, The Harvest Salad, Fenimore’s BLT, and the Q Burger featuring bacon, swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions, and black garlic aioli on a toasted brioche bun.
The pub gets its name from the enormous mural in the hotel’s lobby depicting a scene from James Fenimore Cooper’s “The Last of the Mohicans.”
Allegedly Cooper was inspired to write the famous novel after visiting a cave outside Glens Falls in 1824 with Edward Stanley, who later became prime minister of England. Stanley remarked the cave would make an excellent setting for a romance. And the rest is history (or at least trivia).
The cave came to be known as Cooper’s Cave, and it’s possible to see it today. Before or after, of course, a fine meal at Fenimore’s Pub.
