Visit Adirondack Farms on Thurman’s Fall Farm Tour
It’s time once again for one of our favorite Adirondack fall events, the self-guided tour of Thurman’s finest farms. We love this event because we always find some new made-in-the-ADK hidden gem.
The Thurman Fall Farm Tour is a great opportunity to meet local food producers and craftspeople. On the tour, visitors will encounter non-GMO heritage pigs, grass-fed beef, an abundance of fall vegetables, all-natural poultry and eggs, internationally-awarded cheeses, a quilt show, artisanal jams, jellies, maple products, and ice cream, a craft market and the ever-popular punkin chunkin’ trebuchet (a big catapult for launching pumpkins into the air).
This is a great time to be touring the area as fall foliage will be peaking, and the views and scenery will be glorious. Be sure to have your camera or phone ready to snap great pictures at each site to post online with #mylgarea #adkfarms #visitThurman.
Blackberry Hill Farm will serve up a hot breakfast from 9 am to 11 am. From 12 pm to 2 pm, stop by Nettle Meadow Farm for a barn loft buffet luncheon. It doesn’t get more farm-to-table than that.
For more information about the event and locations, visit the Fall Farm Tour’s website.
