The first of four Free Fishing Events in New York State will take Place on February 15 and 16, 2025, during Presidents Day weekend.
Free fishing days allow residents and non-residents who are 16 and older to fish without a freshwater fishing license (kids under 16 can always fish for free).
Take this perfect opportunity to try fishing for the first time, get back into the sport, or take a friend or the whole family along to fish. Even though a license is not needed, all other fishing regulations apply.
