7th Annual Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run

Run a 5K or 10K in the Adirondack High Peaks.

The Annual Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run, to benefit the Wilmington Historical Society’s building fund, takes place at Preston Field in Wilmington on Saturday, June 15.

Race options include a 5K race, a 10K race, and a Virtual Option. Run participants receive a t-shirt, a race completion medal, and “swag” from our local businesses.

Awards are given in men’s and women’s categories for the 5K and 10K races for the first, second, and third places.

Stick around after the run for the awards ceremony and have some fun at the Whiskey Run Festival. 

Why a Whiskey Run in the High Peaks?

The area has a rich history with booze, both legal and illegal. In the War of 1812, Wilmington supplied rye whiskey to American troops as part of their daily ration at the Battle of Plattsburgh.

During prohibition, Wilmington residents offered a temporary refuge for bootleggers crossing the Canadian border.

Until recently, Wilmington was home to US Barrel, a whiskey barrel cooperage. In the context of a somewhat checkered history and natural beauty, the Wilmington Historical Society invites you to the annual Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run and Festival.

How to register for the Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run.

The Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run offers the following race classes. Online registration is found at ADKWhiskeyRun.com. Order your t-shirt with registration.

Refer your friends to receive a bonus. Refer five or more participants and get one free registration as a thank you. Look for more details in your confirmation email after you register!

Limited registration is available the day of the event from 8 to 9:15 am at the registration booth located at Festival Field.

The Wilmington Whiteface Whiskey Run and Festival is the primary fundraiser for the Wilmington Historical Society's proposed new Ruth & Thomas Keegan Memorial History Center building.

The funds raised by the race will support the construction of a building that will include a reference library, an archives room, and a display/lecture/community space, all aimed at promoting the history of the Whiteface Region. The Wilmington Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
