Black Fly Challenge, Indian Lake to Inlet, Saturday, June 10

The Adirondack Gravel Grinder, known as the Black Fly Challenge, is a bike race held on the Second Saturday in June. Each year, intrepid cyclists take to the rough roads between Indian Lake and Inlet for an approximately 40-mile road race. The start and finish alternate each year, with this year’s race commencing in Indian Lake with a finish line in Inlet. As of June 7, the race is still on; according to the official race website, “There is a high overcast from the smoke, but it doesn’t seem to be affecting air quality at ground level, and the current DEC air quality alert ends at midnight Tuesday.”
