Day seven at the 2023 Winter Carnival in Saranac Lake includes another variety pack of fun-filled events to choose from.

Torchlight Skiing

Mt. Pisgah Recreation Center, owned and operated by the Village of Saranac Lake with support from the Friends of Mount Pisgah, hosts several popular Winter Carnival Events. One of those is the Torchlight Ski Parade.

At this popular event, kids of all ski abilities can join together for a torchlight parade down the ski hill. Skiing is followed by a lovely display of fireworks sure to put a smile on everyone’s face. Also, making this event extra nice is that it’s free.

Carnival Cringe Night — Saranac Lake’s Amateur Comedy Hour

Don’t want to freeze your keister, but also don’t mind making an ass out of yourself? Head on over to The Garagery (behind Grizle-T’s on Dorsey Street) for Saranac Lake’s only stand-up comedy event. If you’d like to perform, DM them on Facebook or Instagram.

Doors will open at 6 pm, and the comedy action kicks off at 7 pm.

Tickets are $10 presale or $15 at the door, and only 90 tickets will be available.

The Frank White Experience

If night skiing is not your jam, and you missed out on tickets to the Cringe Event, what is left to do on Friday Eve in Saranac Lake on February 7, 2023? Why, catching the Frank White Experience: Tribute to Notorious B.I.G. at The Waterhole, 48 Main Street, of course.

According to the FWE website, they are “…a genre leader in live Hip Hop tribute bands. Best described as the Dark Star Orchestra of Hip Hop, FWE delivers a quality of sound & homage akin to acts like Pink Talking Phish, Lizards, Badfish and Start Making Sense. FWE not only covers the music of Biggie Smalls but takes listeners on a journey back through the beloved soundscape of 1990’s Hip Hop and R&B, making them a guaranteed crowd pleaser sure to rock any audience.” Just call him Big Poppa.
