Day eight at the 2023 Winter Carnival in Saranac Lake includes another variety pack of fun-filled events to choose from.

Adirondack Bank Innertube Races

Mt. Pisgah Recreation Center, owned and operated by the Village of Saranac Lake with support from the Friends of Mount Pisgah, is the site once again for the super popular inner-tube races

One of the most popular events annually, the family-friendly ‘Tube Races draw the greatest number of participants of any of the Winter Carnival sporting events.

The "tubers" are released in groups of four, with others of their age group. Times are recorded, and the fastest tubers in their age groups receive awards. Age group competition starts from the youngest group and proceeds up to the master’s division. Pre-registration is available, as well as on race day. Innertubes are provided. Helmets are not, but race organizers strongly encourage participants to protect their noggins.

Firefighter’s Broom Ball

Always a good time, watch Saranac Lake’s finest compete in a hockey-like tournament where boots replace skates, brooms substitute for hockey sticks, and a rubber ball becomes the puck. Hilarity ensues.

Coakley Home and Hardware Children's Skating Races

Another favorite among Lil’ ADKers, kids can skate on the Saranac Lake Civic Center ice rink and race their friends to the finish line. All participants receive a ribbon for the event. Each grade competes at its own level.

If you would like to join, the Registration and Waiver form can be found here.
