Paul Smith’s VIC Hosts Mushroom Workshop
Learn how to harvest, prepare and cultivate medicinal mushrooms in the Adirondacks.
Paul Smith’s Visitor Interpretive Center will host an educational workshop on Saturday, May 11, 2024, on medicinal mushrooms and their uses.
This workshop is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the fascinating world of medicinal mushrooms. Workshop attendees will learn about the different types of mushrooms that are commonly found and used in medicinal practices.
Participants will gain an understanding of the techniques used for harvesting, preparing, and cultivating these mushrooms and the methods for creating tinctures.
Each workshop participant will have the opportunity to create a double-extraction mushroom tincture, a potent and effective way of extracting mushrooms' medicinal properties.
Additionally, everyone will receive an oyster mushroom kit to take home, which will allow you to grow your own mushrooms in the comfort of your own home.
By the end of the workshop, you will have gained a wealth of knowledge about medicinal mushrooms and will have hands-on experience creating your own tincture and growing your own mushrooms. This workshop is perfect for anyone who is interested in natural health remedies or has a passion for gardening and growing their own food.
Bring lunch and a drink. Preregistration is required, and class size is limited. For more information and to register now, visit Paul Smith’s website.
