Hear the rousing sounds of the Fifes & Drums, which boosted the spirits of an American Army in 1776 at Fort Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain, the site of the first American victory in the Revolutionary War.
Experience a unique two-day event showcasing the story of the Northern Continental Army through musical concerts, living history vignettes, and weapon demonstrations.
Witness the colonial rebellion evolving into a war for independence as the troops at Ticonderoga receive the Declaration of Independence in a dramatic reading.
From morning reveille to evening tattoo, learn how drummers and fifers within the Continental Army regulated daily life in 1776. Attendees will gain a deeper appreciation for how drumbeats, trilling fifes, and songs created an 18th-century world of military music.
On Saturday and Sunday, July 27 and 28, Fort Ticonderoga’s curators and historians present an array of informative and engaging tours and demonstrations, including:
