19th Annual Festival of Colors in Wilmington
A hometown festival celebrating the beginning of Fall in the Adirondacks High Peaks region.
Fall might be our favorite season in the ADK. The fantastic colors, sunny days, cool nights and sweater weather. What could be better?
Kick-off autumn on Saturday, September 9, from 10 am to 5 pm for the 19th annual Festival of Colors in Wilmington, NY, in the Adidornacks’ High Peaks region. This community-oriented festival features over 75 local vendors, including local artisans and craftspeople, food trucks offering farm-to-table cuisine, locally crafted beverages, activities for Lil’ ADKers, and live music.
And did we mention the Battle of the Cupcakes? Bakers are challenged to stretch their imaginations in terms of both taste and decoration. Three age groups define the competition categories:
Miniature Bakers is for bakers under 11
Just for Fun ages 12-16
Deluxe Bakers are 17 and older.
Bakers should register first, then drop off at least 18 cupcakes between 10 and 11:30 am. The winner will be announced at 1:30 pm. All proceeds will support the local food pantry.
The festival starts at 10 am and goes till 5 pm at Preston Festival Field, on Springfield Road, just off State Highway 86 in Wilmington.
