Experience the Eclipse in Westport, NY, on Lake Champlain.
Westport, NY, is preparing for a full day of fun activities to celebrate the solar eclipse in the Lake Champlain and Adirondack Coast region.
What is a total solar eclipse?
Solar eclipses are either total or annular, depending on the distance between the Sun, Earth, and the Moon. During total eclipses, the Moon completely covers the Sun. In annular eclipses, the Moon only partially covers the Sun, creating a ring of light in the sky.
In April of 2024, the U.S. will experience a total solar eclipse. It will pass over New York State and directly through the Adirondack Park.
Towns and villages throughout the region expect many visitors to view this incredible phenomenon.
