Essex Day 50th Anniversary

The Town of Essex looks forward to its annual tradition of bringing together the community for a town-wide yard sale and street party on the first Saturday of August.

Residents and visitors alike can explore a wide array of treasures at the town-wide yard sale while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of a street party. This event is a terrific opportunity to experience historic Essex's unique character and spirit on Lake Champlain while connecting with fellow community members.

• ‍Browse and enjoy refreshments at local shops like The Pink Pig, The Barn Door Tavern, The Essex Ice Cream Cafe, and The Neighborhood Nest

• Enjoy live Music: Too Tall String Band (10 am-noon), Mark Henry (12:30 pm - 2 pm). Made possible, in part, by the Essex County Arts Council's Cultural Assistance Program Grant with funding provided by Essex County‍

• Sample local food from Papa Duke's BBQ and Indian Bay Woodfired Pizza & Beer Garden at The Barn Door Tavern‍

• Treasure hunt at the town-wide yard sale and the book sale at the Belden Noble Memorial Library (10 am - 4 pm. After 3 pm, fill a bag of books for just $5)

• Get craft at the "Paint & Take": The Village Gallery invites parents to paint with their children on the gallery’s porch. All supplies are free. Plus: craft & beading book giveaway

• Peruse The Village Gallery: Featuring abstract, floral and landscape acrylic, encaustic and ink paintings by Stephen Zeitfinger and Helen Goetz

• And for the Lil’ ADKers — Bounce House, Games, Popcorn, Cotton-Candy and more.
