Get ready for the celestial event of a lifetime. Tupper Lake, NY, is the place to be for the April 8 Total Solar Eclipse, with a jaw-dropping 3 minutes and 35 seconds of totality. It's the ultimate "Eclipse Central" with a festival-like atmosphere.
The Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory has pulled out all the stops to ensure a fantastic experience for visitors of all ages. They've joined forces with the entire community to create a fun, informative, and safe environment. Prepare to be wowed with an 18-foot mega-screen that will transport you through a captivating multimedia journey.
Visitors can expect an array of family-friendly activities and events throughout the weekend. From music to food to entertainment, there's something for everyone.
Current plans are for festivities to begin the day before the eclipse, Sunday, April 7 and continue through April 8. There will be workshops, informative lectures and presentations on both days.
During the eclipse, the 18-foot (5.5-meter) screen will broadcast NASA’s live stream as the eclipse passes through Kerrville, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Cleveland, Ohio, on its way to Tupper Lake. The Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory is considered a 4th site for NASA’s live stream broadcast.
