The Emerson House is one such unique spot that offers guests an idyllic, peaceful respite from the stresses of modern life and an opportunity to stay on the rural property of celebrated artist Rockwell Kent.
Designed and built by Kent in the 1930s on his estate, Asgaard Farm, near Ausable Forks in the stunning Champlain area in the northern part of the ADK. While no longer owned by the Kent family, Asgaard Farm and Dairy is still very active as a farm raising pastured beef, cattle, and poultry. They make their cheeses and sell free-range eggs.
The current owners meticulously renovated Emerson House and now make it available as a vacation rental on Air BnB. The property is fully equipped and available year-round.
On the ground floor, the home includes:
Bright and open farm kitchen
Cozy sitting room
Half bath
Pleasant screened-in porch
Access to the full basement with laundry facilities.
Located on the second floor:

The property features a network of six-plus miles of marked trails for your hiking, nordic skiing, and snowshoeing pleasure. You may also be allowed to help at the farm if you're lucky.
And, of course, the 6 million acres of the ADK park are at your doorstep. The deep blue waters of Lake Champlain are a 30-minute drive to the east.
