Lake Placid Center for the Arts Presents the Nutcracker on November 25 and 26.
Enjoy matinee and evening performances of this holiday classic in the Adirondacks.
Attending a performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker ballet is the quintessential holiday experience – the classic story of a girl and her beloved Nutcracker doll that magically comes to life.
On Christmas Eve, Clara is thrilled to receive a unique gift from her godfather – a nutcracker. After a series of unfortunate events, however, Clara is wonder-struck when her nutcracker comes alive, but that’s just the beginning of an enchanted and spectacular adventure that includes an epic battle between toy soldiers and mice, a gigantic Christmas tree, an evil Mouse Queen, the Kingdom of Snow, the beautiful Snow Queen, Land of Sweets Mother Ginger and her Gingersnaps, and, of course, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.
The production features dancers from all over the North Country. Don’t miss this year’s full two-hour production. Enjoy two performances on Saturday at 1 pm and 6 pm and a matinee on Sunday, November 26, at 1 pm.
Additional matinees are scheduled for December 2 and 3.
